Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 August 2026
These terms apply when you use the MedFish app and website. By creating an account you agree to them.
Safety first. MedFish is an information tool, not a navigation system. Never rely on it for safety at sea. Always check official forecasts, carry proper equipment, and follow the fishing regulations that apply where you are.
1. Who provides the service
MedFish is provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COUNTRY] (support@medfish.online).
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Provide accurate details and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone else.
3. Your content
Your catches, photos, spots and messages remain yours. You keep ownership of everything you upload.
By publishing content you grant us a limited licence to store, display and distribute it within the app for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You agree not to upload content that:
- is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or harassing;
- infringes someone else's rights;
- reveals another person's private location without their consent;
- depicts fishing that breaks the law where it took place;
- is spam or deliberately misleading.
We may remove content that breaks these rules and suspend accounts that do so repeatedly.
4. Fishing responsibly
Fishing regulations — licences, closed seasons, minimum sizes, protected species, marine protected areas — vary by country and region and change over time. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to you. Information in MedFish, including species data, is provided for reference and may be incomplete or out of date.
5. Paid spot access
- Spot owners may charge for access to exact coordinates. Prices are shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
- Access is granted immediately after payment. Because the content is delivered instantly and cannot be returned, purchases are generally non-refundable — except where consumer law gives you a right to a refund, or where the spot data was materially inaccurate.
- We charge a platform fee on each transaction. The remainder goes to the spot owner.
- Buying access does not give you the right to republish or resell those coordinates.
6. Shops
- Shop listings are reviewed before being published.
- You may only register a shop you are authorised to represent, and the details you publish must be accurate.
- Transactions between anglers and shops happen outside the app unless stated otherwise. MedFish is not a party to them.
- We may remove a listing that is inaccurate, abandoned, or breaches these terms.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, bulk-download or resell data from the service;
- attempt to obtain coordinates you have not been granted;
- probe, disrupt or overload our systems;
- use the service to break any law.
8. Availability
We aim to keep MedFish running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and marine data depends on third-party providers we do not control.
9. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions made at sea based on information in the app, or for the accuracy of third-party marine data or user-submitted content.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use MedFish afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
